Philosophy Forum 28/01/2015 -Mary Abascal-Hildebrand: The Forming of a Civic Sensibility in Public Administration: Implications of a Ricoeurian Ethics Test for Democratic Economics and Politics.

Dear All

I also received interest to look again at the work of Paul Ricoeur (Ricoeur’s paper on metaphor was in fact the first paper (not book) the forum ever looked at). The resolution of this particular tension was achieved by this synthesis. I hope it will prove interesting to both parties. The meeting will be in UL102 14:15-15:45 as per…

Philosophy Department Enquiry

Dear All

Just a brief fact finding mission. If (and this is still a big If) there was any possibility of forming a philosophy department within the University, would any of the staff on the forum list be interested in contributing to the formation/running of such a department?

If you are interested could you signal your interest to me via email (gfreestone@lincoln.ac.uk).

Thanks very much

Graham

Philosophy Forum 21/01/2015-Deborah Boucoyannis: The Equalizing Hand: Why Adam Smith Thought the Market Should Produce Wealth Without Steep Inequality.

Dear All

the theistic realm has now deserted the forum and into that vacuum rushes the matter of economics. Members suggested Smith might be an interesting figure, so this paper has been found to generate discussion around that area.

The meeting will be in UL102 14:15-15:45
